The Tencap Rating Badge
The Tencap Rating Badge provides players and pros (and everyone else!) with at-a-glance access to a player's current Tencap Rating and recent
performance. The Tencap Rating Badge is used throughout the Tencap Tennis website to help users gain access to relevant information about other
players.
Rating Accuracy Levels
Three accuracy levels have been established based on how much tennis is played and how many people are played against. This allows players to immediately recognize the accuracy of their Tencap Ratings.
Introductory: (Rating Wizard Rating) This is your initial rating in the Tencap Tennis Rating System. You can get your introductory rating by joining Tencap Tennis today. When you join, you will be taken through a quick Rating Wizard that will ask you a few quick questions about your tennis games. Answer the questions honestly to allow the system to pick an accurate Introductory Rating for your skill level.
Provisional: (8 sets, 2 opponents) The middle level of Rating Accuracy, you can reach a Provisional Tencap Rating once you have played at least eight sets against at least two different opponents. In doubles, you need not play with the same partner for each set, but you do need to have at least two different doubles opponents. After one year of no activity in your Tencap Player Profile, your Provisional Tencap Rating will drop back down to an Introductory Tencap Rating, so keep entering those tennis scores.
Official: (16 sets, 6 opponents) This is the highest level of accuracy in the Tencap Rating System. It identifies you as a player that has played at least 16 sets against at least 6 different opponents. With this much data, we have a much higher confidence level that your Tencap Rating is accurate, and the more you play, the more accurate it will become. After one year of no activity in your Tencap Player Profile, your Official Tencap Rating will drop back down to a Provisional Tencap Rating, so keep entering those tennis scores.
